Pack 100

We are a community of parents and kids working together to achieve the aims of Scouting.

Cub Scouts is designed for boys and girls ages 5 to 10, with different age groups split into five levels: Lion (Kindergarten), Tiger (1st Grade), Wolf (2nd Grade), Bear (3rd Grade), Webelos (4th Grade), and Arrow of Light (5th Grade). These levels help ensure that activities are age-appropriate, with the program focused on skill development, leadership, and learning to contribute to the community. Cub Scouts follow a rank progression where they work on a series of achievements, badges, and challenges that enhance their personal growth, teamwork, and outdoor skills.

Parent participation is a key component of the Cub Scout program. Each child must have an adult partner, typically a parent or guardian, who helps them complete activities. This partner must attend all meetings for Lions and Tigers, and participate with their scout for outdoor activities like hikes and campouts for all Cubs. This involvement strengthens the bond between parents and children, encourages active learning, and supports the Scouting ideals of service, responsibility, and respect. Parents also work alongside volunteer leaders to help organize meetings, activities, and events.

The Cub Scout program includes a variety of adventures or themed activities designed to teach important skills. These adventures can range from outdoor camping, hiking, and nature activities, to building STEM projects, learning about community and citizenship, or developing physical fitness. Each rank has a specific set of adventure requirements, making the program both fun and educational.

A typical Scouting year for Pack 100 runs from the middle of August through the end of May. During this time Cubs will attend weekly meetings and about once a month will have a separate activity. Some of our past monthly activites have been campouts, hikes, model rocket launching, raingutter regatta, and pinewood derby, to name a few. During the summer months we try to keep our monthly activities but do not hold weekly meetings.
